The Netherlands has some of the highest pump prices in Europe due to high excise duties. Unmanned stations off the motorway and white-label brands (TinQ, Tango, Avia) are typically the cheapest.

Brandstofaccijns plus 21% BTW. Excise on Euro 95 was raised again in 2025 and represents over 50% of the pump price.
When prices dip
Wholesale-linked stations adjust daily — Monday mornings are often cheapest, Friday afternoons the most expensive.
Tips
- Cross-border refuelling in Germany or Belgium can save €0.15–0.30/L on diesel.
- Use unmanned “onbemande” stations on provincial roads for the lowest list prices.
- Many employers offer fuel cards with 5–10 cents per litre discount at participating networks.
