Italian fuel prices are reported via the Osservatorio Prezzi Carburanti. “Servito” (full service) costs 10–20 cents more per litre than “fai-da-te” (self service); always choose self service when available.

When prices dip
Prices tend to drift down through the week and rise Friday afternoon ahead of weekend travel.
Tips
- Avoid Autostrada service areas — Area di Servizio prices are €0.20+/L above town stations.
- IP, Q8 and ENI dominate, but unbranded “pompe bianche” are normally cheapest.
- Check border savings into Slovenia and Switzerland for Euro 95.

Watch out: Public rapid charging can cost as much as fuel; the saving depends on where you charge, not on the car alone.
