Fuel duty of 52.95 p/L plus 20% VAT. Duty has been frozen since 2011 with a temporary 5p cut still in place.

Tips

• Supermarket forecourts beat motorway services by 15–25 p per litre.
• Smaller independent forecourts in Northern Ireland can be cheaper than mainland averages.
• Premium unleaded (E5) is now ~10 p more than standard E10.
